Hamburg Beer Week 2024

Hamburg Beer Week #HHBW24 is just around the corner!
With over 40 events and 25 locations, the festival brings together Hamburg brewers, producers and manufacturers for the fifth time.
The event is taking place for the second time under the umbrella of the Open Mouth Hamburg Food Festival.
Under the motto “Back to the Roots”, this year everything revolves around regional producers and the origin and quality of local raw materials.
Visitors can look forward to presentations, workshops and tastings where they can learn more about the collaboration between local agricultural producers and Hamburg breweries.
The idea is to discover local products and take a look at current brewing processes and recipes.

Program highlights 2024:

Hans Blank” collaboration brew from 01.08. This year’s highlight: the HHBW Collab Brew from Wildwuchs Brauerei, Hamburg’s first organic brewery.
In this globally unique joint project, all participating Hamburg breweries brewed a wheat ale together this year.
Each brewery has contributed its own brewing water, malt and hops, resulting in a unique taste experience.
The limited-edition beer will not only be served during the festival week in September, but will also be available in stores from August. Brewers boat trip on 12.09. The Opening Cruise marks the start of the HHBW.
All participating breweries in the Hanseatic city each select a special beer for the cruise through the harbor.
The evening boat trip on the Elbe offers the perfect opportunity to sample a variety of Hamburg beers and find out more about the 2024 beer highlights directly from the brewers.
There are also various fish sandwiches that go perfectly with the draught beers. New!
HHBW joint stand at the eat&style Food Festival on 14 & 15.09. For the first time, Hamburg Beer Week will be represented with a joint stand at the eat&style festival.
Over 7,000 visitors are expected in the listed fruit and vegetable halls of Hamburg’s wholesale market.
In the pop-up kitchens, Hamburg chefs will present a variety of tasting portions and, together with the brewers, a large selection of local Hamburg beers. Cherry Sour release from 29.08. The ÜberQuell Cherry Sour is a fresh and crisp trip from the Altes Land to St. Pauli.
With 500 kg of sour cherries, half as juice, half in whole cherries, the beer is pimped at the end of fermentation.
The result: a refreshing sour reminiscent of cherry lollipops with a green twist – simply irresistible! Release party on 29.08.

Pizza workshop on 15.09. Have you always dreamed of creating your own pizza? With us, this idea becomes reality! With our dough and under relaxed guidance, you bake a variety of pizzas – everything revolves around hamburger tomatoes, from the mild to the sweet to the spicy nightshade plants. You will receive a guided tour of our GreenPauli community garden and harvest fresh herbs and vegetables directly from the roof garden. You can also make your own pesto with fresh basil and our favorite spices. Our pizza workshop takes place as part of the Open Mouth Food Festival. SAVE YOUR TICKETS NOW Brew your own on 15.09. Participants usually leave our brewing event, which takes place in collaboration with the ÜberQuell Brauwerkstätten in Hamburg St. Pauli, feeling full, fuller and smarter than before.
For around five hours, you’ll enjoy hand-brewed beer specialties straight from the lager tank, feast on crispy pizza straight from the stone oven and learn how to brew your own beer at the same time!
To kick things off, hosts Danny and Jörg from Besserbrauer will talk a little about craft beer and the basics of craft brewing.
Meanwhile, the first freshly tapped beer will be served.
